Are you dreaming of a fun and whimsical day at Universal Studios Singapore? I have gone to Universal Studios a couple of times with and without kids and have accumulated some top tips for the amazing experience. Read below to see my top tips when visiting Universal Studios Singapore.
#1 Plan Ahead.
The best advice one can give when visiting any theme park is to plan ahead. Check the mode of transportation being used whether it is by bus, the MRT, car or taxi. Give yourself plenty of time for unexpected delays that may occur. The park opens at 10am and closes at 5pm. On Thursday, the park closes at 5pm and reopens at 7:15pm until 12:30am. On Friday and Saturday the park closes at 5pm and reopens at 7:15pm till 1:30am.
#1 If travelling with kids, bring a stroller or beach/Camping Trolley.
This seems like a given, but some people prefer to rent their strollers from the park. The problem with this hack is that strollers may all be in use when arriving at the park as some days are busier than others. I also recommend getting your own stroller so you can easily store all the merchandise you will buy at the park. If you are planning to rent a stroller, prices start at SGD20.

#3 Buy Tickets Online.
Buying tickets online can save you time when you get to the park as queues can be quite long during peak times. Buying them online also ensures entry is guaranteed and you can score exclusive packages and rates.

#4 Catch Public Transport.
We have been to Singapore three times now and have found public transport to be the best and most affordable option. The best way from Marina Bay is to catch the MRT to HarbourFront then the light rail on level 3 of VivoCity to Resorts World Station. From Sentosa, you can catch the light rail at the station that is closest to your hotel to Resorts World Station. Follow the signs at Resorts World to Universal Studios. There are also plenty of buses that link to Universal Studios. If you want to drive to Universal Studios, parking rates are capped at SGD13.10 per day from Monday to Thursday and SGD16.30 on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays.

#5 Calling All Thrill Seekers!
Are you a thrill seeker? Look no further because Universal Studios Singapore has some amazing and very thrilling rides. Some of their most thrilling rides include Battlestar Galactica: Human vs Cyclon which is located in Sci-Fi City, Revenge of the Mummy located in Ancient Egypt and Transformers the Ride: The Ultimate 3D Battle located in Sci-Fi City. The wait times for these rides are longer than others so expect an average wait time of 20-40 minutes. You can purchase Universal Express passes for a single ride if you want to skip the queue.
#6 Go on the Most Popular Rides first.
As the day progresses, so do wait times for the most popular rides. The best thing I have found when visiting Universal Studios is to go on these rides as soon as you enter the park. If you are visiting in the morning or as soon as the park opens, the wait times won’t be as long. If you are visiting in the evening, you can get the most popular rides out of the way first to leave time to enjoy the rest of the park before closing.

#7 If Meet and Greet is more your Thing….
Universal Studios has a range of meet-and-greet options around the park at different times. Meet Shrek and Fiona, Cybertron, Baby Kilo, Sesame Street and so much more! You can find specific times on the Universal Studios App.

#8 Download The Universal Studios Singapore App.
The Universal Studios App is your ultimate guide around the park. Explore the park map and find different zones around the park. Each ride in the app also has an estimated wait time tailored specifically for the day to make it easier to plan your day. Guests can also check the times of different shows around the park.
#9 What About Bringing Food and Drink Into The Park?
The Official Universal Studios website has stated that no food or drinks are to be taken inside the park, however, every time we have gone we have not had an issue bringing in water and some snacks. It does get really hot in Singapore and walking around Universal Studios is no exception. Guests can bring some food with them but keep in mind that they can be taken off you at the gate. Dining at the park includes Mel’s Drive-In (an American diner), Starbot Cafe (Ramen and sushi snacks), Oasis Spice Cafe (Traditional Indian favourites) and so much more!
Hope you have a wonderful and magical day at Universal Studios Singapore!
